Seahouse Cottage is part of a landmark property perched on the cliffs above Cocklawburn beach. It is approximately 3 miles south of Bewick upon Tweed near to the village of Scremerston and is easily accessible by the mainline train network or the A1.
There are spectacular uninterrupted views of the Northumbrian coastline, including the Holy Island of Lindesfarne and Bamburgh Castle.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms. The main very spacious double bedroom looks south towards the beach and the second has 2 single beds. The bathroom is also on the first floor with a toilet, basin and over-the-bath electric shower. On the ground floor there is a fitted kitchen with electric oven and hob, an Aga, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave and a separate dining room with open coal fire.
There is also a store room for bikes, surf boards or any outdoor kit. Heating is by electric night storage heaters but the large sitting room also has a wood burning stove within an inglenook fireplace. The sitting room has a tv, DVD player, freeview, CD/radio and Wifi and a double sofa bed for occasional use.
Externally there is allocated parking and a private walled yard to the rear of the cottage which is perfect for barbecues in the summer.
There is a small beach adjacent to the property which due to surrounding rocks, is virtually unvisited except by the family and guests with more extensive sandy beaches to the south approximately 5 minutes walk away.
All Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels and power is included, and a cot and high chair are available on request.
Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior arrangement.
Bookings are Friday to Friday unless previously arranged but some short weekend breaks are available on request.
Seahouse Cottage is a superb spot for walking, bird watching, horse riding at nearby stable as well as superb links golf courses. It has good access to the nearby A1 to reach the Cheviot Hills, Lindesfarne, Alnwick Gardens and everything that this part of Northumberland and the Borders has to offer.
